Description
The Law Offices of Joseph H. Nivin, P.C. is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join our growing litigation practice. This position offers substantial courtroom experience, client interaction, and responsibility handling family law, matrimonial, and Article 81 guardianship matters throughout New York City.

Divorce and matrimonial actions
Child custody and visitation
Child support and spousal support
Family offense proceedings
Enforcement and modification proceedings
Article 81 guardianship proceedings
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of family law, matrimonial, and guardianship matters
Conduct court appearances, conferences, hearings, and oral arguments
Draft motions, pleadings, affidavits, stipulations, and legal memoranda
Develop litigation strategy and advise clients regarding legal options
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, evaluators, guardians, and other professionals
Maintain accurate billing and case-management records
Compensation & Benefits
$105,000 - $125,000 annual salary

Requirements
Qualifications
Admission to practice law in New York required
2-4 years of legal experience preferred
Experience in family law, matrimonial law, guardianship, elder law, trusts and estates litigation, prosecution, public defense, legal aid, or other litigation-intensive practice areas strongly preferred
Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple active matters
Professional judgment, initiative, and willingness to learn
